gEDA Description: The gEDA project is working on producing a full GPL'd suite of Electronic Design Automation tools. These tools are used for electrical circuit design, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, and production. Currently, the gEDA project offers a mature suite of open-source applications for electronics design, including schematic capture, attribute management, bill of materials (BOM) generation, netlisting into over 20 netlist formats, analog and digital simulation, and printed circuit board (PCB) layout. ghydraulic Description: ghydraulic is hydraulic network analysis software, with the input files in XML format. Ghydraulic was based on EPANET, which has source code available now so ghydraulic development has stopped. See the EPANET homepage at http://www.epa.gov/ORD/NRMRL/wswrd/epanet.html Added on: 16-Jan-2005 Hits: 34 Rate this Site
Guppi Description: Guppi is a GNOME-based plot program with integrated statistics capabilities. It is designed to be very scriptable (via Guile) and easily extensible through a plug-in architecture. Added on: 16-Jan-2005 Hits: 24 Rate this Site
PCB Description: PCB is an interactive printed circuit board editor for the X11 window system. PCB includes a rats nest feature, design rule checking, and can provide industry standard RS-274-X (Gerber), NC drill, and centroid data (X-Y data) output for use in the board fabrication and assembly process. PCB offers high end features such as an autorouter and trace optimizer which can tremendously reduce layout time Added on: 16-Jan-2005 Hits: 30 Rate this Site
VMD - Visual Molecular Dynamics Description: VMD is designed for the visualization and analysis of biological systems such as proteins, nucleic acids, lipid bilayer assemblies, etc. It may be used to view more general molecules, as VMD can read standard Protein Data Bank (PDB) files and display the contained structure. VMD provides a wide variety of methods for rendering and coloring a molecule: simple points and lines, CPK spheres and cylinders, licorice bonds, backbone tubes and ribbons, cartoon drawings, and others. VMD can be used to animate and analyze the trajectory of a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. In particular, VMD can act as a graphical front end for an external MD program by displaying and animating a molecule undergoing simulation on a remote computer.
