KDE desktop is by far one of my favorites due to the way it integrates the web browser, file manager, office applications, etc.  I hadn't been to the kde-apps.org web site in some time and finally spent the last several days there just browsing around to see what was out there.

Wow, to my surprise, there is really an active user community developing some really neat pieces of software to extend kde.  What really surprised me was the explosion of kommander applications.  Kommander homepage is http://kommander.kdewebdev.org/

Kommander is a two part application. The first part is the editor where you visually build dialogs and applications and edit the scripting elements. The second part is the executor which processes the generated XML file.  Kommander produces dialogs and applications that are very small, run very fast, and do not have binary issues.

I have written several small kommander scripts myself but never released them to the general public for the simple fact there were simply things I made to make my linux administration life a little easier.  For instance, before portato and kuroo existed I wrote a front-end to portage (now way to out dated to even brag about).

Anyways, what I really wanted to point out was that there are many KDE related things not included with most distributions available at the kde-org web site link above.....you should do like I did and spend a little time there to see what is available.
