I m migrating srom solaris to linux.Can u plz tell me how to run C/C++ programs on solaris as well as linux.

I would assume if you are looking for an integrated development environment, it will be dependend on the version of solaris (sparc or x86) that you are using and also the version/distribution of linux your are using.  However, for less bloat and "runs from shell", gcc installs on both versions of solaris and is the default compiler on linux.

I really dont mind helping with linux questions, but I am wondering exactly what you are needing since this is about the 3rd or 4th similar question from you and another employee of the same company (which offers offshore IT solutions) regarding solaris and linux.  All of your questions could have been answered using http://www.google.com  If my general replies are not acceptable to you or your company, you can contact me for consulting on the topics or more specific help.
