The Nikon Coolpix L5 camera works just great under linux IF you set the camera to PTP mode (Select Menu - Settings - Interface - USB - Change the default Mass Storage to PTP. Press O.K. Select Menu to exit again).
Great little 7.1MP camera that costs less than $250 and takes great images and by THE name brand in camera'a, Nikon!
digiKam is able to auto-detect camera in PTP mode. KDE automatically is able to mount the camera and simply use konqueror to browse if you prefer it over digiKam. Because digiKam works off of the gphoto2 work, that means gphoto2 will also work with the Nikon L5.
