Maysville Linux Users Group (MLUG) - Linux Users Helping Linux Users FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Question
·  Why do I recieve an ERROR when submitting.....

Answer
·  Why do I recieve an ERROR when submitting.....

If you are using html code or the fsckeditor when submitting news, reviews, or forum posts and you receive a blank page with just the word ERROR, the most common reason is because you are attempting to use a html tag that is not permitted. Another option, especially when copying and pasting text from another web site or created with another editor, is that the code is not valid for the fsckeditor. And finally, I have seen some weird situations where certain keyboard characters (non-alphanumeric) will cause this.

Allowed HTML without the < and >:
b strong address em i u br p a center img alt table tr td div font span hr sub sup strike style blockquote tt li ol ul script embed object param

If the codes are permitted, check for weird characters or combinations, such as # and 0 together causes issues.

Finally, if you are still unable to resolve it, save your article, forum, etc in a text message and send it to me via email or message in the forums.
