ewiget writes "I will be teaching a Unix web based course at the Maysville Community College with a focus on Linux and preparing the students for the CompTIA Linux+ certification exam.

NIS230 - Unix Administration
Please Note: This class will focus on topics that prepare students for the CompTIA Linux+ certification exam. The class will be team taught by Janet Garrison and Ed Wiget.
Students will have the option of using a version of Linux that can be booted from a CD. Therefore, students may complete this class without installing Linux on their home computers.
Delivery Format: This is a web-based, distance-learning class delivered via the Kentucky Virtual University (KYVU) and Maysville Community and Technical College. All lecture materials, assignments, and tests will be disseminated and administered using online methods. Students will not be required to attend any on-campus class meetings.
Course Description: This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform post- installation and day-to-day administration tasks in a single-domain or multiple-domain UNIX based network (using Linux).
Credit Hours: Three hours of academic credit will be awarded to students who enroll for a letter grade and receive a passing grade for the course. (Students may also enroll in the class on a non-graded, "audit" basis.)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of either NIS160 Network Core Technologies or CIS210 Communications and Networking , -or- Consent of Instructors

$276 - KY Resident ($92 X 3 cr. hrs.)
$330 - Non-Resident - contiguous county ($110 X 3 cr. hrs.)
$828 - Non-Resident ($276 X 3 cr. hrs.)
Tuition rates are set by the KCTCS Board of Regents and are subject to change.
Residents of Adams or Brown County in Ohio may qualify for in-state tuition rates. Contact Patricia Massie, Registrar, for information. Special Note: Maysville Community & Technical College reserves the right to make a change in this and charge non-resident tuition at any time before the semester starts.
Scholarships for Senior Citizens: The Donovan Fellowship is open to persons who are 65 years of age or over. There is no charge for tuition. Please contact the Student Development Office or your advisor for information on how to enroll.
