As much as I love the google search engine, other parts of google cause me to wonder exactly who this company is run or sponsored / supported by. Here is why:

I applied for a google adsense account twice for this web site to help raise money for various MLUG needs - to help pay expenses we incur for the web site, domain name, meetings, etc. I see google adsense accounts on all types of web sites, everything from small traffic sites to large sites.

Adsense is an advertising program in which you can place advertising areas of your web site that are derived from the content that is on your web pages. For example, a linux web site would have software, open source, linux, or related advertising. With the adsense program, you are then paid on a per click of the advertisments from visitors to the web site.

What gets me is that twice we have been denied an adense account for both a business and personal accounts, with no explanation as to why the account has not been approved. Here is the current letter I received today.

application, our specialists have found that it does not meet our

program criteria. Therefore, we are unable to accept you into our

program.

We have certain policies in place that we believe will help ensure the

effectiveness of Google ads for our publishers as well as for our

advertisers. We review all publishers, and we reserve the right to

decline any application. As we grow, we may find that we are able to

expand our program to more web publishers with a wider variety of web

content.

Please note that we may not be able to respond to inquiries regarding

the specific reasons for our decision. Thank you for your understanding.
